The
XV were playing with confidence after the BSC game and came out the blocks
quickly to put pressure on RHS. A penalty from the steadying boot of Max Malins
and a try from the skipper Kingham was reward for the early play. However, the
XV were caught in defence by a quick backline on a couple of occasions and were
made to pay. However, going forward the backs had class a plenty on the day and
the 5 tries for the day saw the back cross for 4. The link play between Malins
M and Keane was excellent for the try and of the day. The game was hindered
slightly by the referee getting some big decisions wrong on the day, although
they affected both sides in equal measure. So if the score read 25 – 7 it would
not be probably reflect the actual scores made on the day. The side were
starting to gel and the team play was certainly more cohesive with players
returning to the XV. However, the XV have yet to have all available for a
fixture yet! Such is the modern game.
