1st XV v Gresham’s

Result: Lost 23-19
Tries: Hunter-J 5, Latham 5, Malins M 5

Cons: Malins 4
Review: The disappointment of going into the game with injuries to key players and players playing with niggles was almost eradicated in a spirited fight back from the Felsted XV, who 10 minutes into the 2nd half found themselves 20-0 down in a game that could have been very different. Then, with 20 minutes to go the XV woke up and started to dominate in all areas of the game scoring 3 quick tries. It was only when the ball was killed on the opposition line with minutes left and a penalty wasn’t awarded that the comeback fell just short. Gresham’s played well and the whooping from their coach when they scored points suggested it was celebrated later on. Although unlucky to concede the first try that included several infringements not spotted, Gresham’s looked dangerous in loose play for the first 45 minutes of this contest and in what turned out to be a cracker could not be denied the victory.
